The Bible is the best-selling book in history, but how many people are actually reading it? A Gallup survey reports the average American household has four Bibles. However, research by Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life (2008) found that only 16% of Americans read the Bible every day.

We are hoping to reverse this trend, starting with our own congregation. We’re going to help our people understand God’s story from Genesis to Revelation and how their own stories intersect with God’s. We’ll teach and discuss 31 events within selected scriptures sequenced in chronological order. Those who commit to this endeavor should be able to read the entire Bible in 2012, or at least all of the major sections.

Every age group at Seacoast Chapel will travel on this discipleship journey together. Each of our adult small groups, our teen group, as well as kid’s church and even nursery will interact with the same weekly scriptural event. There are even age-appropriate story books that will help facilitate family devotions (The Story for Children, and The Story for Little Ones). This will enable the entire church to be literally on the same page for 31 weeks.
